Pa piacevolezza di una passeggiata intorno ai mulini, complice una giornata assolata. La maggior parte dei mulini in Olanda sono nati per prosciugare le terre e rendere utilizzabili e coltivabili per il pascolo. 
Altri mulini, sfruttando la forza del vento, sono stati impiegati per azionare macine, utilizzati di volta in volta per la produzione di farina, olio (di noccioline), colori per pittura, senape ecc.
Noi abbiamo visitato quelli per la produzione dei colori e dell’olio: inerpicandoci su delle ripide scale di legno siamo arrivati fin al livello della base delle pale: oltre a godere di una bella vista panoramica di tutta la zona. “Ohhh guarda come girano con il vento… forte forte” commentano le due bambine abbracciate: e’ stato interessantissimo vedere da vicinissimo il movimento delle pale, e un addetto ai lavori che la orientava in base alla direzione del vento.
Immancabile sosta al museo degli zoccoli, dove con una dettagliata spiegazione pratica, si assisteva alla creazione degli zoccoli: da pezzo di acero, leggero, impermeabile e termoisolante, si realizzano queste insolite (e secondo me non proprio comode) calzature.
Una parete piena di zoccoli, di ogni tipo, colore e forma, ci ha fatto pensare alla soddisfazione dello Zalando olandese!
E se pur difficile da portare, se siamo vicini vicini anche uno zoccolo olandese può essere un luogo bello dove stare…..
